HELP CLOTHE THE PEOPLE OF THE UKRAIN WHILE YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET - submitted by Alison Stucke Wouldn’t it be nice to have cleaner closets, and at the same time help people in other parts of the world who need clothing? Lord Jesus Christ Ministries and Russian Pastor Val Sereda (who now lives in Duluth) are collecting new and gently-used clothing and shoes, especially in children’s sizes, to send to people in the Ukraine, and mostly to regions closest to Chernobyl and Kiev. You can help! Just call Alison Stucke at 218-722-7925 or email her at alilyofthevalley@excite.com and she’ll coordinate with you a pick-up time for your donations, or a Sunday when you can bring them to here at Gloria Dei. She’ll then get them to Pastor Val. Once a month, Pastor Val sends donated clothing to needy people in Christian churches overseas. “Lord Jesus Christ Ministries is a Body-of-Christ service group that attempts to follow the actions and teachings of Jesus in treating all human beings as brothers and sisters in Christ,” says Pastor Val. So many of us in the United States have cluttered closets full of more clothing than we can ever wear. (I know I do!) Children here often outgrow clothing and shoes before they’re worn out, and the “old” items take up space in closets after new clothing is purchased. So here’s your chance to make more space in your closets, and to help people across the globe!
